Community Outreach Program Sponsorship

Would you like to help people understand more about the natural wonders of the South Puget Sound? Your sponsorship of the SSEA’s Outreach Programs will do just that by helping to train more people to explain to our community members the mysteries of our marine ecology and the threats to it. Our programming reaches out to hundreds of people each year and we need your help to keep it going. You can see with the following program snapshots how much of an impact these programs make in our community:

Beach Naturalist Program
2011 Statistics:

  • 27 Free Beach Naturalist Program dates at 4 local beaches
  • 3,923 total contacts made on the beach
  • 52 Beach Naturalists receiving 12 hours of training

Discovery Lecture Series
2010 – 2011 Statistics

  • 4 free lectures held
  • Average attendance of 100 people

We welcome you to join in our effort to help teach our community members about the natural wonders of the South Puget Sound. Below is a list of sponsorship levels that directly support SSEA’s outreach programs which in turn keeps these programs free and open to the public year round! Sponsorship benefits include:

Lead Program Support: $1,000

  • Prominent recognition (logo, name) in online newsletter
  • Prominent recognition (logo, name) on the supporter acknowledgement sign for the 2012 SSEA Beach Naturalist Program and 2011 – 2012 Discovery Lecture Series events
  • Logo recognition of sponsorship on SSEA website for a year
  • Recognition at the 2012 SSEA Annual Meeting
  • Announcement of support during each Discovery Lecture Series events

Additional

  • Your support will help pay for two Beach Naturalist to attend the training sessions. This support will be highlighted two times in our online newsletter under the Volunteer Spotlight section.
  • An opportunity to have your company/organization participate in a special partnership day with SSEA (ie: a Beach Clean-up day with your staff/members during the Beach Naturalist Program).

Major Program Support: $500

  • Recognition (logo, name) in online newsletter
  • Recognition (logo, name) on the supporter acknowledgement sign for the 2012 SSEA Beach Naturalist Program and 2011 – 2012 Discovery Lecture Series events
  • Logo recognition of sponsorship on SSEA website for a year
  • Recognition at the 2012 SSEA Annual Meeting

Additional

  • Your support will help pay for one Beach Naturalist to attend the training sessions. This support will be highlighted in our online newsletter under the Volunteer Spotlight section.

Contributing Program Support: $250

  • Recognition in online newsletter
  • Recognition on the supporter acknowledgement sign for the 2012 SSEA Beach Naturalist Program and 2011 – 2012 Discovery Lecture Series events
  • Name recognition of sponsorship on SSEA website for a year
  • Recognition at the 2012 SSEA Annual Meeting

How your support helps

  • Funding will pay for a Beach Naturalist Volunteer to attend the training sessions and receive all training materials for free
  • Purchase on-site equipment such as microscopes, nets, and collection materials to better engage the public
  • Purchase safety equipment
  • Purchase monitoring materials for Burfoot County Park monitoring project, data to be submitted to the University of Washington
  • Purchase volunteer identification items such as hats, T-shirts, and vests
  • Program coordination support
