SSEA members, beach naturalists and guests enjoyed a wonderful Annual Meeting and Volunteer Celebration. Diana McCandless was named Volunteer of the year. Diana participated in the 2011 Beach Naturalist program and created a short video clip of what you can see at the beach in the dead of winter. She also played a critical role in our work with school groups. SSEA is honored to have her as a volunteer. Congratulations Diana.
The keynote presentation was by Jonathan Kochmer of Earth Economics. Jonathan provided a great grounding in this emerging field. Jonathan, the principal researcher of Earth Economics, highlighted examples of the positive cost/benefit environmental protection. Thanks Jonathan for a very enlightening presentation.
